Food Network

I knew I had been watching too much Food Network when I closed the lid and turned on my crock pot on Sunday and realized I had been narrating every step of my cooking process out loud. No one was there but me.

Every step from removing the giblets, washing out the chicken, stuffing the chicken with onions and garlic (seasoning as I went), to rubbing the skin with olive oil and lemon. All of this done out loud with handy little tips as I went.

When I realized what I had done I was conflicted. Should I have been glad no one was there to witness it or would it have been better had there been a real audience?

I would say this time be glad no one was around....but maybe you should hang out with some people. That way if more solo narration begins- at least someone will be around to learn from it.
Dont isolate...not healthy

Actually, I am not too isolated. Even though that has been my pattern in the past, I have done some serious work on that pattern in the last year or so.

I just started on a Food Network kick in the past week though. I didn't realize how it had affected me in the kitchen though! wow.

My ex watched a LOT of the Food Network too. About as much as I watched Courttv and Law and Order reruns.
He used to do the same thing sometimes when he was cooking. Dont know if he did it while he was alone or not.

I can't help but laugh about it. It is more like thinking out loud, but funny! I caught myself doing it again yesterday when I was making scrambled eggs of all things!

Well there is no point in being embarrassed about something that happened when no one was around anyway. Your obviously not having a problem keeping yourself amused. Thats good
