Back in Ohio

I'm in Ohio for my mom's birthday. If things were "right" between my ex/partner and I, I would also be visiting her parents and her (used to be mine too) dog. But I am not visiting them. I am actually afraid to even call them. They might have information that I don't really want to hear. Or I might know something they don't know. I am not sure they even know how close she is to coming home. She is careful not to tell them too much.

It also crossed my mind that she might already be home, and that I might run into her somewhere around here. I am not ready for that scene.
